permanent hiatus notice ( sorta?? )
i’ve kind of been on hiatus on/off for like months now, but i thought i’d reaffirm it with this post, i guess. i just haven’t had much muse for writing in general for awhile and i can’t figure out why because my level of excitement and enthusiasm for s5 is INSANELY high. i’ve also been fairly busy with rl stuff and i’ve been dealing with a lot of shit, so i like using the time i do have to myself to just...chill out. maybe it’s tumblr culture in general that i’m put off by lately? who knows.
that being said, i do still love writing raven and i get bursts of inspiration from time to time, so when that does happens, i’ll randomly pop up and do little things and short replies, etc etc. and of course, i’m still lurking around on here and i’ll probs occasionally make ooc posts to yell excitedly about this new season.
but it’s probably easier to reach me on discord ( spiritkeepcr / cawser#8885 ) and twitter ( @xprodigywitch ) ‘cause i’m on those apps a LOT more and we can yell about season 5 together more easily through those venues if you want!!
this is faaar from a goodbye though ‘cause, if i’m being honest, my muse may come back in full force once the season gets going, but idk. i just miss and love you guys, so i wanted y’all to know what’s up and how y’all can @ me.
#・・・・☆ ɪ’ᴍ ɢᴏᴏᴅ ᴛᴏ ɢᴏ → ( ooc )#and we can always rp on discord!!#also if any mutuals follow me on twitter lemme know so i can follow you back#i don't usually censor my opinions on there though so uh#just a lil warning lol

Precolonial HWS SEA Rant Post, feel free to ignore
If you're still reading, then you're probably looking for evidence or some juicy tidbits to throw back at me or to try and find dirt to cancel me, like typical Tumblr/Twitter. Go ahead, I don't really care.
First off, let me just say that If you like Precolonial South-East Asia AUs, feel free to keep enjoying them. I will respectfully support your passions from afar. This post is just to explain why I don't like it, especially the way they keep insisting/portraying PH in it.
Still here? Then let me begin.
Since the recent confirmation that the ASEAN Six Majors (Can't really say ASEAN 10 atm since it's still missing some people) Were completed and the Ma-Phil-Indo Trio was included, there has been a large surge in 'Precolonial' fanarts and portrayals of South East Asians, those three especially.
Even long, long before, circa 2010's ish, a rather well-known fan universe known as 'Maaf' dealt with their story and how their Author thought their intertwined histories went. Written by (my best guesstimate) an Indonesian writer who wants to explore the old, SEA bond.
When I first stumbled across Maaf (I was in Highschool at the time, around age 16-ish), I took a casual interest in it and tried to read it through. But, I will wholeheartedly admit that at the time, Pre-Colonial cultures of South-East Asia in general, let alone Philippine, did not really interest me that much. The focus (I think) was mostly on Indonesia, a country I didn't really know back then, and the liberal use of 'ancient' names and artwork just made it feel like an entirely Original Work (that needed a degree in History to really appreciate) and not something from Hetalia. I also completely disagreed with what I could gather was the story's portrayal of PH but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Do I hate 'Maaf'? No, I don't hate it. Do I wish I never came across it or that it didn't exist? Of course not. Just because I didn't enjoy it or appreciate it that well doesn't mean I wish any ill toward it, its fans, or its creator.
Fast forward to April 2021, the long awaited inclusion of South East Asia to the canon Hetalia verse. I was happy, the other fans were happy, all was good.
Then started the questionable fanarts, fan theories and fan pairings.
Especially the expansion of Precolonial! PH.
Let's go back to Maaf for one moment. From what I understood of Maaf, PH there was a character who once was like all the other South East Asian cultures, trading with them, all around being a nice family.
But all that changed when the Spaniards attacked, so cry the precolonial buffs. They destroyed everything, ransacked and marginalized the tribes, erased everything that PH was!
Did that happen? ABSOLUTELY. The Spaniards had this vision in mind that they must spread Christianity to all of the 'savage, unchristian heathens' of their realm. :V /s
But back up a second, back to PH's portrayal in Maaf. The way she (yeah, she) was portrayed there was that she was slowly losing her memories of being a 'true' South East Asian and grew more and more westernized in the process, like some sort of Culture-specific Alzheimer's or something.
Firstly, that is seriously depressing, and secondly, I just really don't see that happening.
Here's why.
Point 1: Even before Colonial Masters, Filipinos as a people cannot agree on anything.
I'll just begin this segment with a Philippine proverb that outlines what Filipinos call 'Crab Mentality' or 'Crab Bucket Mentality'.
"You don't need a lid for a container when you're keeping multiple crabs. If you keep at least two crabs together, they will just pull each other down instead of helping each other up."
I don't know how it goes with Indonesian or Malaysian history class, but what I know of my homeland, both pre- and post-colonial history, we were never really 'united' or 'together' in the sense that Indonesia and Malaysia were (from what I assume).
Let me pull up a somewhat related question on r/AskHistorians.
The reason I brought this up as it shows the reasons why, in my opinion, a single entity that is 'Precolonial Philippines-tan' is an impossibility.
The answers are long and would extend this already long post to stupid proportions, so I'll just quote relevant sentences. The link is here for those that wanna deep-dive into the answer.
"All this to say that there wasn't a name used for the entire Philippine islands before the Philippines that people now would agree to. An interesting comparison would be the Holy Roman Empire, which might also be characterized as disparate politico-geographic groups of relatively small size that had a history of relations between each other, but one thing they had that the Philippines did not was a common language, or at least a family of mostly mutually intelligible languages, so that the name Deutschland or Germany isn't terribly offensive to anyone. If you called the Philippines the 'Lupang-Tagalog' or even 'Lupang-Tao' the other ethnic groups would protest."
For those in need of translation, 'Lupang Tagalog' means 'Land of the Tagalogs' and 'Lupang Tao' means 'Land of People', specifically. The first one is already exclusive and offensive, as the Tagalog peoples are but one of many ethnicities here.
And for the 'Lupang Tagalog' suggestion specifically, it's even more offensive as they are the majority ethnicity (not by much, just around 28%) From this chart from Geography Now! It would basically be alienating everyone else in the 72% remainder that isn't 'Tagalog'.
And even 'Lupang Tao', the most generic name in a local language you can think of, would be met with contempt because the name itself is in the Tagalog language.
Just travelling between two individual island groups today would sometimes require a translator because the words can change very rapidly and very drastically. Here's a sample of some differences coming from a friend living in Visayas (in Red) vs. the words I know living in Luzon (In blue).
Ate vs. Manang = Older Sister
Ibon vs. Pispis = Bird
Tumawa vs. Kadlaw = To laugh
Takot vs. Hadlok = Fear
Kain vs. Kaon = To eat
Ngayon vs. Subong = Now, at this point in time
Iyak vs. Hibi/Gibi = to cry
Talampakan vs. Tiil = Foot (in Tagalog, the word retains its 'body part AND unit of measurement' meaning)
Tulog vs. Tuyo = to sleep (Tuyo in Tagalog is either a dried salted fish or 'to dry')
The kicker is that just like Tagalog is just one of many languages here, so too is the language my friend speaks. Ask an entirely new person, like someone from Mindanao, they'll probably have an entirely new set of words.
It's not just Luzon vs. Visayas vs. Mindanao, either. Here's a map listing some of the ethnic groups here.
Even the way they're written differs from location to location.
While we're on the subject of Island divisions, a casual skim across Twitter and Tumblr has shown that their Precolonial PH has been one of the following ancient civilizations: Tondo, Butuan, Sugbu, Namayan. There may have been others but that was what I have found.
Notice how even today, the posters of Precolonial PH can't seem to agree on what he's supposed to be? With Indonesia it's either Majapahit or Srivijaya and Malaysia it's usually Malacca iirc.
What is the big deal? Well, let's go back to the Ask Historians post. "Why didn't the Philippines ever change its name to remove the colonial mark that being named after a Spanish King has?" The answer: "If you suggested something dating to precolonial times, the other ethnic groups would protest."
Since we're on a roll with maps, let me bring this up.
As you can see, the precolonial PH posts have a reason to not be able to agree on one thing, as there is a LOT of options. Do you also see how THAT list is also split up?
It's split up into those aligned with China (Sinified), aligned with India (Indianized), aligned with the Middle East (Islamicized), and no alignment (Animist). Now, let's go back to the main suggestions for which Kingdom/Polity/Civilization/whatever Modern Philippines used to be.
If the Filipino peoples' couldn't agree on something as simple as WHAT TO CALL THE LAND THEY'RE LIVING ON, what more a living, breathing, walking, talking entity that is supposed to be a beacon of all of their 'unified' culture? ESPECIALLY if that entity used to be a currently existing Kingdom/Polity/Rajahnate/Sultanate/whatever.
Tondo? "Of course, always the damn Tagalogs. Tagalog this, Tagalog that. First the capital city, then the language,* THE REST OF US EXIST, YOU KNOW! What about us in Visayas? Mindanao?"
*The national language known as 'Filipino' is just standardized Tagalog*
Butuan? "Wait, you want Butuan to represent us? They're they only Indian-aligned city in the Islam-majority Mindanao! They're not even that many of them! I'm not gonna change my religion!"
Sugbu, the other name for the Rajahnate of Cebu on the map? Lemme bring back my Visayan friend again. According to her, she hails from the Hiligaynon part of Visayas.
"Sure :v and the other islands are what?
Chopped liver?
Not to mention the language and writing barrier helloooo"
And Namayan? Well. I'll let this pic speak for itself.
To summarize, no matter who you pick as Modern PH's previous identity, it will not end well nor be accepted by the other Kingdoms at the time.
"So where does that leave Modern PH, he had to have been ONE of them, right?"
Well, not really. He doesn't HAVE to be one of the Ancient Kingdoms that lasted till the modern day. I mean, predecessor representatives exist in Hetalia canon, after all. Like Modern Greece is a different character from Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt and Modern Egypt, heck even England and his brothers have a canon mother that was the rep before them.
Or you could even use the same logic that Germany does, in that each specific region has/had its own representative and that Modern!PH is just the 'mediator' between them (cause gawd does PH need one). There could be a Tondo, a Namayan, a Butuan, and a Sugbu, all arguing and this Proto-PH is just trying to make headway in making them all satisfied.
But, even after all this, there is another reason why I personally don't subscribe to the 'Precolonial PH' idea, and by tangential extension, the Indo x Phil pairing.
Point 2: Even without intending to, Precolonial Indo x Phil just comes off as patronizing
This second point is just ENTIRELY personal preference and barely has any facts to back it up.
Again, if you like the pairing and disagree with me, You do you. I will respectfully support you and your passions from a distance.
But for me, Indo being Phil's seme/bae/boyfriend and consistently bringing up precolonial times just comes off as patronizing.
Just one more time, I'd like to point out that I am NOT bashing Indonesia, its people or the subscribers of Indo x Phil. This is just how the pairing feels to ME specifically.
The way I see it, Indo x Phil as a pairing, especially if it extends back into precolonial times, reads the same way as a long-since married couple where the husband/wife CONSTANTLY brings up that ONE outing you had together, or that ONE prom night where you kissed while dancing, even it happened like 30 some-odd years ago and so much more happened since then.
Even in a platonic sense, It reads like two besties where one ALWAYS mentions stuff like 'Yeah but you looked so much cooler back in High School' or 'Back in Grade School you would've known that', or 'Remember back in Pre-school we did X? How could you forget that?'
How does one respond to the notion that no matter what you do now, it will never compare to a past you've already forgotten or barely remember? That the best version of 'you' is already long gone?
"That's because the westerners made you forget your culture! You gotta take it back!"
While it is true, yes, as a collective we barely remember the Kingdom that commissioned the Laguna Copperplate, or created the Banaue Rice Terraces, or created the millennia old bonds that we still share with Indonesia and Malaysia.
But to keep pushing the precolonial identity would be to neglect and cast aside the one REAL binding belief and culture that spans the entirety of these islands we call the Philippines.
We take on all the bad stuff that happens to us, conquer it, and make it our own. Be it natural disasters, foreign powers, or negative stereotypical mentalities.
Yes, we've forgotten the ancient kingdoms of old and are just now digging through the closet for those remnants of the past. Yes, the colonizers imposed that on us, and made us forget. But in the process we've also taken everything that they left behind, everything that they threw at us, and created something that can only come from us.
The lanterns that the Spaniards used to light the way to the morning masses they made us attend became our globally known symbol of Christmas. The junked vehicles that the Americans left behind in World War 2 are now rolling works of art that announce themselves loud and proud on the streets (for better or for worse). The iced dessert recipe that the Japanese forced us to learn while they were occupying the country is now so distinct and famous it is synonymous with us, and is so delicious even Italy has taken notice.
Even after all this? Even after all the 425-ish years total we have been under a foreign power, with all the progress we've made as a country, a people, and a nation, you would still imply our fragmented, jigsaw puzzle state of being in the past was better just because it was pure 'South East Asian' like everyone else?
We might not be as well put-together as Indonesia or Malaysia, but we made this melting pot of angry, leg-pulling, dogpiling, Native, Mestizo, Chinoy, and Fil-Am crabs OURS, damnit!
It's now 4:30 AM and I have work in 5 or so hours. I'll be going to sleep now.

Itadakimasu!! | Part 5: I Didn’ Ask (Written Chapter)
word count: 1.7k
Atsumu Miya was handsome, that was an undeniable truth. So naturally it would make sense that his identical twin brother would be, well, identical - and yet, you couldn't help the state of shock you found yourself in as you stood before him, your once buckling knees relieved of their pressure as his very large arms grab the box from your hands with a grunt ('lemme take that, looks heavy'). In all honesty, the fact that he was that good looking pissed you off, and watching him be kind, albeit taciturn, to you after bullying you for a month straight on Twitter (okay, fine, it was a mutual bullying, but he definitely started it) only made your scowl deepen. Your eyes narrowed at his back and you turned toward the van with a huff, finding another, perhaps lighter box to take inside.
"This place has been collecting dust for years, ya sure you guys can make it work?" Miya's voice was deep and rich, every syllable dripped with his Kansai accent. The unfamiliar sound made your chest bubble and you had to stop yourself from outwardly groaning in frustration. You crossed the threshold of the new place and your mouth fell open as you took in the shops current state.
The shop was- well, let's just say there was a reason it was so cheap. Even still, your eyes glittered at the potential you saw. The exposed beams looked in near mint condition as the sun filtered through the windows and soaked the unstained wood in a warm morning glow. It was empty, save for some appliances that definitely looked antique (the thought of being able to restore them made you drool), but the space had more than enough room for café style seating, and maybe even a section for a corner library or a stage for live music. The stairs to the two bedroom apartment that resided directly above the shop space, where you would be living, was tucked away in a hallway off to the side. You made a mental note to make sure it was a bit more livable than the current shop situation downstairs, and motioned for him to settle the boxes along the main counter.
"We're planning on restoring the kitchen within a few weeks, then setting up a pop up stand out front to make revenue while we renovate the rest. Hoping to be fully open come summer." He merely hummed in response as he brushed off the dust left on his hands. You were caught up in your own world, detailing in your brain every minute detail you planned on changing when Kuguri stumbled in through the front door, giant box obscuring his vision as he tripped over the step. "Ah, careful, looks fragile." Miya rushed over to help, taking the box and allowing Kuguri to steady himself. Kuguri blinked, warmth hitting his cheeks as he mumbled a small thank you.
“Don’ mention it,” came Miya’s slightly strained reply as he set the box down next to the others. The room fell into a less than comfortable silence and you tried to look anywhere other than at the man currently standing in your dining area. Kuguri cleared his throat and tightened the grip on his suitcase as he made his way over the stairs. "I'm gonna go check out the apartment. I'll be back in a bit." You shot him a pleading look but he mouthed a quick 'sorry' and scurried off, leaving you alone with the Other Twin.
More uncomfortable silence. You felt warmth rush to your face as you grew more flustered with each beat, neither of you willing to break the tension that had been slowly pervading the air around you like a dense fog. The suffocation ended up winning out over your stubbornness and you turned your head to look at him, embarrassment flooding at the sight of his eyes already on you.
"Uh, thanks, you know, for the help." He gave you a tight, forced smile, uttered a quick 'yer welcome', and began to make his way towards the side entrance. Arms crossed in front of you as you watched him open the door, the tiny alleyway and side entrance to his own shop coming into view. Miya paused at the open door and turned his head to look over at you, a smirk settling on his face.
"By the way, little creepy of ya to stalk us and rent out the space next to us. What are ya lookin' for here? I hope you know this new development doesn't change anythin' between us." Your eyes widened at the sudden change, your brain working overtime to try to process what he said. Once you had caught up to the moment, you scoffed.
"Oh please, Miya, as if. The world doesn't revolve around you. We bought this place over a month ago." His eyes shone with something you couldn't quite place and he let out a small chuckle, one that sounded far too innocent in comparison to his hard gaze. "Whatever you say, Paradis." You scrunched your nose at the familiar nickname, shaking your head.
"Don't call me that; I have a name, you know." Miya turned around to face you fully then, the smirk ever present as he leaned against the frame, his hand still grasping the handle to the shop door. "Ah yeah? You guys don' mention names on your Twitter, and I was always too (again, petty) lazy to bother lookin' it up," he drawled, deepening your frown in response.
"It's L/n Y/n." Miya's lazy smile upturned ever so slightly.
"Ah, I didn' ask, but thanks."
Embarrassment crashed over you once again and you felt the heat creep up your neck and ears. Your glare seemed to be filled to the brim with hellfire as you bore holes into his back. He turned to leave, and you followed after him, taking hold of the doorknob and watching him make the short distance back to Onigiri Miya's side entrance.
"I noticed you call me Miya, it's quite formal of you,” he noted, now at his own door. You let out a less-than-ladylike snort and waved your hand. "I wasn't being formal - coincidentally, I just also didn't bother looking it up." He laughed then, and it was a nice laugh, and you hated how nice it was with every fiber of your being.
"Osamu," he said, the smugness oozing off him, as if you were just dying to know his name and he decided to humor you. You stepped backward to make room for the door.
"Ah, I didn' ask, but thanks," you mocked, accent and all. You threw a shit eating grin and a quick wave his way before promptly shutting the door. When you saw what seemed like the five stages of grief cross his face in a span of a few seconds, you knew that putting Osamu Miya in his place was going to become your favorite past time.
Based on the way you two had tweeted each other over the last month, Osamu had deduced that you were probably a woman. What he wasn't expecting, however, was just how cute you ended up being. If you had been anyone else he probably would have been nothing short of a perfect gentleman; carrying all the boxes, smooth talking his way through conversation, and working himself up to asking you out. Unfortunately for him, though, there was just something about you that got under his skin, and he genuinely couldn't figure out what it was.
Osamu stood alone in the alleyway, giving himself a moment to process the last forty-five minutes of his life. Paradis Bakery, the company he's been openly beefing with on Twitter for the world to see, not only opened a second location in Osaka, but moved directly beside Onigiri Miya, in the place he had been looking into purchasing for at least six months now. The abandoned café was supposed to be a plan B in case Tokyo had to be pushed off for a few more years - being able to expand Onigiri Miya would have been huge for them if they couldn't swing the Tokyo location, and Kita had been more than open to the idea of expanding. When you said you purchased the café over a month ago, he remembered inquiring about the place at least two weeks prior to Atsumu's visit to your bakery, and the owner mentioning that someone had put in an offer. The sheer coincidence honestly creeped him out more than anything; he didn't like the feeling that fate was behind this because if it was - why?
Osamu shook off the goosebumps and decided he'd worry about fate intervening when it actually decided to do so. Turning toward his own shop, he hustled into the store with tense shoulders and a furrowed brow. Why was he so worked up? He's well aware that he's the one who started the whole social media war between you, and it's not like you guys actually had any reason to hate each other - you were just doing it for the attention. So why does he have this familiar feeling of contempt coursing through him at the mere thought of you?
"Osamu, are you okay? Ya sleep well?" Osamu snapped his attention to Kita, who was standing in the kitchen, already beginning food prep for the day. Kita's knife paused its assault on the spring onions as he waited for an answer.
"Ah, yeah, I slept fine Kita. Ya meet the new neighbors?" Kita nodded, resuming his ministrations. If you didn't know Kita, you would have just assumed the polite smile was just that - Osamu knew better though, and the slight upturn had a hint of what looked like mischief behind it. He gulped at the thought of Kita plotting.
"I met L/n. She's very nice." Osamu face scrunched at the mention of your name, which didn't go unnoticed by Kita, who's eyebrow shot up in surprise.
"You don't like her?"
"She's...fine." Osamu walked into the kitchen, putting on his apron as he washed his knife in preparation for the salmon.
"Honestly, I'm surprised, I thought you'dve taken a likin' to her if anything." Osamu grunted in response. "I dunno what it is, but there's just somethin' that rubs me the wrong way."
"Give it time, she may warm up to ya."
Osamu doubted that.

Fun Facts -
Tendou got an earful when you called him that day, and he bit back a laugh every time you angrily mentioned how hot Osamu was (’Oh my god his face??? his arms??? Why’s the universe gotta have favoritism for the worst people’)
After hours, Kita also got an earful from Osamu - and he also had to cover his smile with his hand whenever Osamu angrily mentioned how cute you looked when you scrunched your face up. (’-and then she snorted, actually /snorted/, at me and while it was adorable it was rude as hell. She’s rude as hell, Kita.)
Kuguri rushed upstairs partly because he couldn’t stand the tension, but mainly because he wanted first dibs on bedrooms.
A/N: ahhh I’m SO sorry for such a long wait, I never intended to take nearly a whole ass week to post - I started a new job this week with weird hours so I had to adjust, plus this chapter actually gave me a little bit of grief haha (thank you lark for pulling my head out of my ass multiple times). But exciting things happen!! Y/n finally meets osamu and its awkward and annoying and they’re both so hot what do we do oh no~ I’m very excited to see how their relationship progresses through the next few chapters lol. Anyways I hope you guys enjoy, feel free to pop into my asks if you want to talk about the fic, or your day, or would like to be added to the taglist!! As always, thank you so much for reading, I love you guys!

(It's me again) I was considering sending multiple asks, but I did not want to spam you^^° Also, thanks for inviting my into your DM's, but I must admit that I have deleted my tumblr account a while ago. I have considered making a twitter since most Douman fans seem to be there, but the risk of people I know irl discovering me there (even if I try to keep personal information to a minimum) is too high and generally creating new social media accounts gives me anxiety. I'm available on Discord tho
FIRST I WANNA APOLOGIZE BECAUSE THIS IS A LONG READ, but it’s only long bc I wanna make sure I’ve covered everything 😭😭
Anon if it’s like, relevant stuff I don’t mind being sent multiple asks lol don’t worry (although I get it bc some people would not like that so I appreciate the consideration)
& ohhh ok ok, the great thing about Twitter is that like tumblr it doesn’t ask for u to put up your personal stuff, actually when I started Twitter I didn’t put up anything other than drawings of smt iv & nothing else regarding personal info (even now all I have is my age and nickname bc I don’t want minors following me) and like some years later I made friends off of that - so it’s worked out great for me
so the “Twitter experience” can be whatever u want it to be, I’ve seen accounts that just retweet art & don’t say anything. So if I were u, I’d make one just to follow all the douman artists out there
I totally get the aversion to Twitter tho there are some WEIRDOS out there but you really have to stick your nose in some replies on some nasty tweets to see em lol but any unwanted negative site interaction is from weirdos that search up specific terms into the search bar, see your tweet that mentions that term, and try to get into arguments with you, and u can just block them easily — I haven’t had this happen to me but I’ve seen it a couple of times , plus like I said u don’t even have to tweet stuff, you can just follow artists and then your timeline should be nothing but fanart
Although my biggest annoyance with Twitter is that if you do decide to start one it’ll be like “add people from your contacts” and it’ll have their Twitter accounts up that u can see— and I would assume anyone on ur contacts list, if they decide to make a Twitter, would be able to see your account —but again I personally think if you put up absolutely no information about yourself (you could even fake a nickname) you should be safe
& yeah no I totally get the social anxiety that comes w making a social media account but my friends that also dislike social media just use Twitter to follow artists or we just dm but that’s it
I hardly use discord bc that involves wrestling with my shit pc if I wanna use the pc version and I hate sitting at my computer for a long amount of time (I don’t have a laptop 😔) and I barely open the discord app on my phone (plus it’s a pain in the ass to want to participate in a chat but have to type on mobile since I’d rather type using a keyboard) buuuut I still have one
Typically most people say “only mutuals add me” but I don’t really care so
DarkMoonBlade#3946
If u decide to a end an invite just lemme know who u are —the thing I wanna stress the most is that I don’t want u to feel pressure to add me or do anything you don’t want to & I hope these came across as suggestions rather than some passive aggresive nudging to do stuff
#anon#asks#putting this under a readmore because I just rambled again#but only bc I wanna make sure I’ve covered all bases when I answer so that leads to long answers

it baffles me that ppl on here still send me messages about the pokemon fandom, and more specifically the g/s fandom, like i care or have anything to contribute
so lemme just. sum it up one last time and then the anons are getting blocked, along with a couple of other semi-regular questions i'm not gonna answer
i dont write fics atm bcuz i'm busy and uninspired
part of why i'm uninspired is absolutely ppl messaging me about Drama
mostly i'm uninspired bcuz other stuff i've been writing is 1000x more interesting than anything i was writing for pkmn fandom
i left that one discord server bcuz i didnt like it
there's nothing deeper to me not liking it. i thought the place had bad vibes every time i visited, so i left
i cannot tell you anything about the ppl on the server or who runs it bcuz i literally cant remember them and to my memory, never rly knew them / was never friends with them
if you think it has bad vibes too, cool, i don't care, it's got nothing to do with me how you feel about a place that also has nothing to do with me
if i had to say any one thing that annoys me about g/s fans, it's the tendency to whine incessantly about lack of content while never contributing content or supporting what there is. THAT'S why i dont check tags any more, and yes, it's a contributing factor in my lack of interest in the ship any more. i find the hypocrisy annoying and the complaining about what's there unfair. the way ppl talk about that ship and the content for it makes me second-guess why i even like it, which is sad bcuz i've shipped it since 2000, but oh well!!! i dont rly miss it i just get frustrated when ppl remind me of all this
yes i was online harassed for years and it was horrible. there is literally no reason for anyone except me to bring it up any more tho. and no!!! it does not have anything to do with that server!!!!
i literally never think about that server unless ppl are on here asking me shit about it or telling me their grievances for god knows what reason. i cannot emphasise this enough: if we're not friends, that's your personal problem, and you need to deal with it instead of dumping it on a stranger.
"do you think ppl are parasocial with you" dont be absurd. i'm too much of a non-presence for that to be the case. i think ppl are either venting bcuz they dont know anyone else in the fandom, or they think venting their fandom frustrations will make me wanna be their friend but no, it doesn't, bcuz it's petty bullshit and i dont care
"are you going to update [insert fic]" probably not
"are you going to write [insert fic idea]" probably not
"where can i find your original writing" lol it's. not hard but i'm also not gonna tell you bcuz *gestures at vague legal things*
"why dont more ppl support your original writing??" idk. have you tried reccing it? i dont promote it more than the bare minimum requirements. in part bcuz of my personality disorder but also bcuz i dont have a reason to be invested in it being successful. no i will not explain that further, the moment anyone says something about how Publishing Industries Work ppl take it as gospel but this is a very unique and localised situation. that's as much as you'll get.
i'm also not invested in my fics being read or whatever bcuz to me fics are a low-pressure low-priority hobby and it's easier to keep it that way if there arent many ppl reading what i'm writing. it's nice when ppl do!! love it when ppl do and enjoy it and have nice things to say!!!! but i write fics just to have some fun and then post them if i think other ppl can have some fun with it too. no skin off my nose if they're not read, but also: i know other fic writers see it differently, and they are completely right and valid to feel that way!!! it's MUCH easier to write with validation & attention, if you are someone who thrives from validation & attention.
"why dont you post more" bcuz i dont have anything to say
"can i follow you on twitter" if you can find the one i actually use, sure, give a go, i'll prob deny your req unless i recognise your username
and inb4
"why dont you just remake" that.... seems like more effort than this place is worth? and mostly i dont get this stuff it's like. once or twice a month and then i get annoyed
"why dont you turn off ask" bcuz mostly theyre fine and old friends/mutuals checking in and i mean. it's not that i dont LIKE attention/validation i just dont NEED it
"why are you being so rude" i'm trying to scare ppl off....... duh.....
"why is this so unreadable" i thought about formatting it better but god that's more effort than i wanna give like. just writing this is enough, and that's an effort born out of frustrating from almost two years of these messages
ANYWAY GOOD NIGHT
#daino rants#q and a with daino#SORRY FOR THE DRAMA FOLKS#AND SORRY IF THE READ MORE DOESNT WORK#literally nobody should care about any of this imo#yet here i am once again

Jacob Frye x Female!Reader (1? Maybe? It’s a surprise for everyone involved)
Hullo!!! Guess who it is??
Me, a lil shit
This was fueled by an intense yearning for all things Victorian (I've been gazing longingly at what WikiVictorian posts on twitter for a couple of weeks now) coupled with an obsession with Mr. Frye
Contains Victorian slang, that I’ve probably butchered beyond recognition
Again, I do wanna continue this, but if I’m back to being a bastard, I might not rip
Pls lemme know if it's too cringe. If it is, I will bury myself in sand, never to surface
Words: 1768
Warnings: One (1) fuck (2 now, I suppose oof), might end up sounding a lil pretentious or sucky or both :(
Fandom: Assassin’s Creed (Syndicate)
Characters: Jacob Frye, You!!
Relationships: So far, Jacob Frye x Reader
The morning greeted you with news of your mother’s death.
Murder, they said it was, her throat slit open with an unnerving amount of precision. No eyewitnesses, even though it took place where she was completely surrounded by her guards. What good were they when they obviously couldn’t do their fucking jobs very well?
Pearl was deserving of a lot of things, but a lonely death wasn’t one of them.
Seated in your carriage, you idly wondered if the house would feel any emptier than it usually did, what with her always off somewhere, attending to business. You didn’t want to dwell on your uncle’s - no, Mr. Starrick’s words. Obviously they weren’t of consolation (not like you needed or wanted them to be, anyway); he wasn’t the kind to care for others, especially when they weren’t what he would consider family, you knew that. No, everything was about his wretched Order as always. The very Order that got the only familial figure to ever care for you killed.
Shaking yourself out of your thoughts, you glanced out the window, hoping to lose yourself in the sights and sounds of the city around you, only to catch a fleeting glimpse of someone’s boot heading towards the top of the carriage, which jostled. Once. Twice.
You barely had enough time to blink, let alone register what was happening as you watched your driver fall (or was he thrown?) to the ground before the carriage sped away, much faster than before, crashing into lampposts and fences. It went on like this for what felt like ages, only coming to a (rather abrupt) halt once you were far enough away from where you’d been, making you lurch forward. One of your hands flew to your chest, the other gripping the seat in the time that you took a few deep breaths to try and get your racing heart back under control, even as you heard a dull thud, and heavy footsteps making their way towards you. The carriage door was flung open, and a man slid into the seat opposite you before shutting it with a resounding click.
While he made himself at home, you took the time to examine him, his general (and rather fetching, in your opinion) appearance and apparent nonchalant attitude (even to approaching an obviously unaccompanied and unwed woman, you thought amusedly, lips twitching into a barely detectable smirk) telling you all you needed to know. The gauntlet worn proud on his arm didn’t hurt either.
This was your mother’s killer. The assassin, Jacob Frye. Was he here to kill you now?
If death was to indeed come by his blade, you didn’t think you’d mind his being the last face you ever saw.
“Miss Attaway, I presume.” It wasn’t a question, but you still inclined your head slightly in acknowledgement. “And what were you up to this early in the day? Not taking the time to grieve before you step into mummy’s shoes?” His tone remained conversational, but you could see the accusation, the distrust in his eyes, in the way his body was ever so slightly tensed, poised to strike at the slightest hint of danger. This time, you let yourself smile.
“I don’t see how that’s any of your business, Mr. Frye”, schooling your expression, you leaned forward slightly, matching the intensity of his gaze with your own while your hand stealthily crept towards the pistol you knew was tucked under the cushions, “your dealings had to do with Pearl, not me. Leave me out of whatever this is.”
That got a reaction out of him. Setting his mouth in a hard line, he copied you, elbows coming to rest on his knees, arms pointed casually in your direction, but you knew what it was: a warning. Your fingers curled around the gun the moment it came into your grasp, but you knew not to pull it out yet. You had to time it right.
Though, you supposed you were flattered to have managed to warrant such caution from a man clearly far more menacing than you were.
“Y'see, it is my business. You may be a proper bit of frock, but considering your…relations, it’s not a stretch to assume that the next time we meet may very well end with my blade buried in you.”
You only angled yourself further towards him, chin resting on your free hand as you tilted your head to the side, half-lidded eyes tracing his features, delighting in the way his own followed your movements closely.
“Is that a promise, Mr. Frye?”
Your words were but a whisper, spoken through lips curved in a salacious smile. Rather reluctantly, an answering grin spread across his face, and it took all you had to not swoon at the sight. It certainly wouldn’t do you very well to have him think you’d go off in an aromatic faint every time a man so much as smiled at you.
“None of your cheek and back answers now, this is a serious conversation. One that has no need of a pistol, I should think”, he motioned to where you’d been practically strangling the poor weapon just out of sight.
Straightening, you huffed and let your hands fall into your lap, “alright, fine, what exactly would you like to know? Or did you just abduct me to reprimand me for not mourning an adequate amount of time?”
He sat back again, arms crossed, a self satisfied look on his face, “We’ll get back to that later if you’d like, but for now”, his voice dropped an octave or two, and you felt it rumble through your chest, almost making your breath hitch, “what are Starrick’s plans for you?”
“If that’s your way of asking if I’m joining the Templars, then no, I’m not. He’s allowed me that much, at least. I will, however, be taking over ownership of Attaway Transport.”
He furrowed his brow, “you’re taking over the business? You don’t look like an Albertine.”
Though he probably didn’t mean them to, his words almost made you burst your stay lace. “I’ll have you know I’m more than capable of it! After all, I was the one taking care of the accounts back when Pearl was still- well-”
“Yes, yes, I’m sure. And you’ll be working under Starrick, then?”
Attractive as he may have been, you didn’t think you liked the way he dismissed your (righteous) indignation.
“Certainly looks that way”, you narrowed your eyes at him, “if I want to keep the business, I don’t have much of a choice, do I? Otherwise I lose the deed.”
That piqued his interest. “You don’t want to work for him?”
“Of course not! He’s a right bastard.”
“And also your uncle.”
You rolled your eyes, “in name only. And with Pearl’s death, he’s not even that anymore. Said so himself, in as many words.”
“Hang on”, he frowned, “are you not related by blood? To him and Pearl?”
You scoffed incredulously, raising an eyebrow, “I thought assassins tended to research their targets thoroughly. It appears I was mistaken”, at his scowl, you hurriedly continued, “but no, I’m not. Pearl took me in when I was younger.”
“So you have no obligations to Starrick?”
“None”, you exhaled sharply, suddenly exhausted. This was not how you expected your day to go at all. Clearing your throat, you pressed on, “are we done here? Or was there something else you wanted?”
He seemed to think for a minute or two, before coming to a decision.
“Work with us.”
You were stunned, to say the least. It must’ve been apparent, because he looked like he was trying not to laugh.
“What did you say?”
“Look, you’ll be running the only transport business in the city as of now, and I imagine you’d find yourself in close quarters with Starrick often enough. You could gather information, provide us with funds we - or others - might need, help liberate the people of London!” He spread his arms wide as he stared at you, likely eagerly awaiting your acceptance.
“No.”
“No?”
“No, sir?” Did he honestly expect you to agree? “The only person this partnership helps is you. I’m going to be the one sticking my neck out for you. And you have nothing to offer me in return. Any such agreement has to be mutually beneficial. And no”, you cut him off before he could get a word in, “your protection doesn’t count. It’s not exactly something I need.”
“But-”
“Mr. Frye”, you sighed, “you seem like a good man, and ordinarily I’d at least consider it, but it’s been a trying day, and-”, you paused as you saw the briefest glimpse of dismay cross his face, before it was gone. It made you uneasy, an incessant bob in your throat to see that, though you weren’t sure why. Still, you supposed you could be just a bit kinder. “Tell you what, if you do realise you have something you could bargain with, we can discuss terms. But only if I think it’s worth the trouble.”
He considered your words for a moment, before nodding, holding his hand out to you.
“We’re in agreement, then?”
“We are”, he affirmed, and you reached out to shake his hand.
“Wonderful. I’ll expect to see you soon enough. But for now”, you gestured vaguely in the direction you’d come from, “would you be so kind as to fetch me a driver? I’d walk, but I’m afraid I don’t know where we are. I might lose my way”, you smiled innocently up at him.
“I could always drive you, there’s no need for all that.”
“Forgive me, but any more of your driving and I might just find myself losing my breakfast”, you ignored his sputtering at your remark, “besides, there will be eyes on my home at all times now. Starrick doesn’t trust me yet, so he’s going to make absolutely certain I’m not…fraternising. I can’t be seen with you or anyone affiliated with you and your sister. So no Rooks either.”
He nodded, looking quite resigned, and opened the carriage door, “very well, ma'am, I shall fetch you your driver. Though, I do hope I don’t have to make an appointment for when I drop by to seal the deal?”
You bit your lip as a mischievous smirk flitted across your lips.
“I’d usually prefer a calling card, but I suppose you could always commandeer my carriage again. Only next time”, he turned to look at you, amusement glinting in his eyes, “try not to wreck London as you do so, please.”
Slang used:
Proper bit of frock - a pretty and clever well-dressed girl
(She’ll) go off in an aromatic faint - said of a fantastical woman, meaning that her delicate nerves will surely be the death of her
Back answers - sharp retorts, quick-tongued replies, without any concession to the laws of etiquette
Albertine - an adroit, calculating, business-like mistress
Burst (her) stay lace - A sudden bust-heaving feminine indignation, which might even literally, and certainly does figuratively, bring about this catastrophe.
Calling card - small cards used for social purposes; also called visiting cards

ALRIGHT HERE WE GO
ight before we get started lemme clarify this is not a quote (if you couldn’t tell lmao) but it is STILL IMPORTANT!!!
okay so, as you all probably know, i haven’t been very active at ALL recently (i’ve pretty much only been online to check up on my new mutual- hi vivi love you) but it has been a bit overwhelming recently. if you didn’t know, i am a light skinned (still black) bisexual female living in america, which means that there’s a whole lot to deal with right now. because of everything that’s been going on, not just here but across the world as well, i’ve been taking a bit of a break from tumblr and twitter because it’s really hard to deal with. i have been speaking out on other social media platforms and most of what’s on my blog right now is in some way related to the current events.
along with this, i have summer homework (that takes absolutely wayyy too much of my time but it doesn't matter lmao) that i have to work on as well.
HOWEVER
i've been working really hard ! i'm sitting on a bunch of one-shots that need to be typed and edited (mostly taekook) that should hopefully be up sometime this week. a few (like, two) are drabbles for a larger work that i've got planned out (it's a taekook social media au with sides yoonmin and namjimseok), but they can definitely be read before i make it (they're set before the story, so really the only 'couple' is yoonmin and there's no flirting between other ships, but there is a lot of cute friendship !). so, though i haven't been online much, i definitely have not forgotten about my blog !
(also, i have multiple social media aus that i really want to write but i can't find an app on the play store that works so if you have any please please please let me know ! you can reply or dm me, either is fine !)
MOVING ON
so today i looked at my follower count (i check every now and then) and i saw i've reached over 300 ! now, i know this isn't a large blog, but i'm really glad this many people enjoy my content ! it's fun for me to make and your reblogs really mean a lot to me because it gets it out there, which i really really really appreciate.
i've had this blog for over a year now, but i never knew the anniversary so i went to check today and it turns out to be may 5th, so happy belated one year i guess haha. i want to do something to celebrate both the anniversary and the following milestone, so i will be taking suggestions ! i'm thinking of doing a post with all my favorite fics that i really wanna share with you all, but i could also do a few edits if you like ! let me know in the replies what you all think i should do !
i know this isn't like my usual content AT ALL, so it won't get much interaction, but i really really want this out here for you all, so thank you to everyone who interacts with this post ! i'll try to post more tomorrow (i already have a few quotes ready) and i'll get to editing my one shots as well.
love you all ! i hope this was helpful as to why i'm not active, but if it wasn't, at least i got to say what i need to say ! here's a picture of jungkook going noot to make up for my absence !
#bts#not a quote#not a shitpost#personal#personal post#blog#very important !#lovely picture of jungoo btw#i love him#he's so cute#i cannot fathom#i cannot dEAL#ok i'm sorry#bye bye#love you all#please interact with this it's really important to me#i don't wanna be annoying#please

Kaedie's Mic Drop #1:
In the first edition of Kaedie’s mic drop, lemme just discuss about this blasphemy from some fandoms about ARMYs owing the entire KPOP community for BTS winning the Top Social Artist Award at the BBMAs. LOL
No offense. Actually, FULL OFFENSE.
Excuse me for being rude but someone’s gotta say it. Can some fandoms stop acting like ARMYs owe you big time for BTS winning the Top Social Artist on BBMAs 2017? Like whut? Sure, we’d prolly thank the nice fans, we did. But to stake claim that we owe you and should thank you? Bitch, no. I’m a multifandom fan and my Twitter timeline is as multifandom as it gets and yet I barely see my mutuals from other fandoms tweeting the hashtags for the BBMAs to help BTS. Some are even so rude and are downplaying the nomination as “irrelevant”. And sure, I get that some ARMYs are super immature but big ARMY accts also often remind the fandom not to troll or be rude to other fandoms. WE FUCKING DID OUR PART, but you should know that some ARMYs don’t bite unless provoked. Want a refresher? Remember that “fandoms unite” tweet? The one where “fandom representatives” say that they don’t need the BBMAs or BTS carrying their faves? Yup. And the people who were involved claimed that it came from ARMYs and yet, when asked for receipts, none of those fandoms can provide any? And also, how some fans mocked that BTS spent a huge money to fly across the US for an award that they will not receive(the jokes one you coz they won /flips hair) or how they are not even gonna perform or how the award will not be presented(bitch you thought!) or howit was just a “fan vote” award. Anyway, to get to my point, I am into different fandoms and seriously, apart from those mutuals I have on Twitter that follows the same groups I stan along with BTS, there were no other fandoms helping. Maybe some of my Shawol and ELF friends. SOME. But that’s coz they are also ARMYs. But the rest? Nah. Even some mutuals who are EXO-Ls didn’t help. So really? Why should we owe you when 95% of the tweets are from my ARMY tlist? After all the shitty things you said to our fandom like being the worst fandom in KPOP(I beg to disagree), you now wanna take credit and say that we owe you and that KPOP community is united? Bitch pls. You even insulted BTS a lot and even made fun of them not performing. And let’s not forget how you almost always blame ARMYs for something we didn’t do, like remember that Chinese boy group that NCT stans called as NCT Dream’s imitation(choosing better words)? Some bitch named Selja tweeted how us ARMYs gave these kids death threaths when none of the rude comments were from ARMYs? Yup. And you also say we are bashing other idols. Bitch, I have yet to see one. We have been too busy celebrating the win and the amount of exposure and attention that BTS got 💁 Pls stop being salty over BTS’ win and also stop discrediting ARMYs by claiming you helped us. Again, my timeline is as multifandom as it gets and I have not seen most of my non-ARMY mutuals helping us and are even badmouthing BTS and ARMYs so really. We know who we owe, but we definitely do not owe the entire KPOP community everything.
Okay bye.

Get Yer Pointin’ Fingers Ready, We’re Looking Back on the Financial Crisis Ten Years Later
I got a notification from Twitter the other day reminding me that it’s been 10 whole years since I joined. Wow, that long? I realized that I’d done it the week the economy started swirling down the drain in earnest back in 2008. Unlike my Twitter anniversary, we can argue all day over the actual anniversary date of the great collapse of 2008, but generally agreed upon among scholars, economists, and angry tattooed bloggers around the world is that the party really kicked off Monday, September 15, with the collapse of Lehman Brothers.
Now, Going Concern wouldn’t be born until a little less than a year later so we weren’t reporting live from the scene (well, technically I was but this isn’t my personal portfolio), but there was still a significant cleanup effort underway by the time we showed up. Although no one got hit worse by the catastrophic global failure of the economy than everyday folks just trying to make an honest living, this site was never about them, so naturally, we focused on what part accountants played in bringing the economy to its knees.
For nostalgia’s sake, let’s take a look back.
The Collapse of Lehman
We couldn’t have any reasonable discussion about the financial crisis without giving an excessive amount of lip service to the collapse of Lehman. More specifically, EY’s responsibility (or lack thereof) as Lehman’s auditor to, in the immortal words of late-night TV diva Susan Powter, “stop the insanity.”
As we all know, EY looked the other way approved of Lehman’s treatment of Repo 105 transactions in accordance with FAS 140. So much so that when U.S. Bankruptcy Examiner Anton Valukas released his damning 2,200-page report on Lehman’s failure, EY stuck to its guns. “Our last audit of the company was for the fiscal year ending Nov. 30, 2007. Our opinion indicated that Lehman’s financial statements for that year were fairly presented in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and we remain of that view,” the firm said in a statement following release of the report.
In 2015, EY settled with the New York attorney general in what it called its “last significant lawsuit” over Lehman for $10 million.
Colonial Bank Failure
As recently as July of this year, PwC is still battling the ghost of Colonial Bank. The long and short of it is that PwC was (is?) accused of failing to notice “a brazen and costly fraud” between Colonial Bank and the now-defunct mortgage lender Taylor, Bean & Whitaker. A federal judge ordered PwC to pay the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. $625 million in damages on July 2, making it one of the largest-ever awards for accounting malpractice. PwC has vowed to appeal, naturally, so maybe we’ll see you right back here in another 10 years for the 20th anniversary of the financial crisis with some news.
Deloitte was also sued by the trust overseeing the bankruptcy of Taylor, Bean & Whitaker Mortgage Corp. to the tune of $6 billion, give or take, and settled in 2013 “to the mutual satisfaction of both parties.”
Subprime
Look, we all know Big 4 accounting firms weren’t the ones handing out mortgages like candy to minimum-wage slaves in historically depressed housing markets. No one is saying that.
Still, Deloitte made a smart move in 2009 and settled a subprime lawsuit with American Home Mortgage Corp. for $4.75 million, presumably because it was easier to throw money at the problem than to have subprime attached to its name and henceforth be known forever as the firm that let the economy go sour. We’ll let EY keep that title.
The Auditor PR Problem
Following the total failure of the global economy, it made sense that average Joes might have some questions such as “Hey, is anyone minding this store?” and “Wait, what do auditors do exactly anyway?” Subjects once relegated to the oversmart minds of economists, career academics, and maybe one guy at FASB who gives a crap were now put on display for all to see. Joe Schmoe of Omaha doesn’t care about Financial Reporting Standard 140; all he knows is that the Lehman collapse set off a chain reaction that led to him losing his modest Midwestern home, wife, dog, pride, and possibly a tooth or two. So now Joe, a lifelong Journey fan, finds himself drawn to country music and wondering what role these elusive financial professionals played in what his life has become.
So, it was only natural that people started asking “why have auditors at all?” As we all know, the financial crisis was but a climax of a large number of issues that, if we’re honest, still exist today just in different forms.
“What precise purpose does it serve to have a supposedly independent auditor (paid for by the company) sign off on accounts? From Enron to Lehman to Satyam to Parmalat, it’s clear that the major accountants lack either the skill or the determination (or both) to ferret out fraud,” wrote Steve Goldstein at MarketWatch in 2013.
The Aftermath
TBH I could sit here all day pulling out stories about audits gone wild, bank failures, and giggle-worthy quotes from former Federal Reserve presidents. But no one wants to read a 5,500-word summary on something that happened a decade ago that we’re all trying to forget, so I won’t.
We’ve had 10 years to learn from our mistakes, yet mere handfuls of months following the economy bottoming out, lenders were moving from subprime mortgages to cars. Accounting firms are still getting sued for performing shoddy audit work. And the SEC is probably too tied up in chasing cryptocurrency scammers to care much about what financial firms are or aren’t doing these days.
The lesson? What lesson. Life goes on.
Did I miss one of your financial crisis Greatest Hits in this roundup? Lemme know, I’ll add it to this nostalgic dumpster fire.
